|
|
Hi,
I am an Aspirant from the Israeli Alpine club. I will be heading to climb Piz Badile NE, Via Cassin and possibly 1-2 more routes in the area.
I am looking for a good, experienced partner to join me between the 12-16 September.
I land in MIlan on the 11th.

Dopo le 15 ore sullo spigolo nord, dite che potrei propormi?

Hi Udi, nice project, the period is very good for the Badile, but only wit very stable weather. September can be cold.
You can do the Cassin, go down to the Gianetti hut on the italian side and from there climb the Pizzo Cengalo (Vinci route is beautiful, but you have many options) or climb the Badile again (you can climb on the South side, diretta Fiorelli, Molteni, many others... or go to the English route on the East face via Cengalo Pass).
Hope you find a partner, I have to work on that week... _________________ Ascolta e dimentica, vedi e ricorda, fai e capisci.

Hi Lorenzo,
Thanks for the info! I wander- you say to start at Geanetti hut for the Cassin? did I understand you correctly?
Vinci route sounds very nice as well.
one question on my mind: do you think it is possible to find a partner at mid September if I come by myself? If so- in which is there a better chance?
Thanks again,
Udi |

For the Cassin you start from Capanna Sasc Furà in the Swiss Side (Val Bondasca) but you can go down from the normal italian ruote to Gianetti hut and stay there some day. Look for the Sciora Swiss map.
Finding a partner is not very easy, don't come here assuming to find one... _________________ Ascolta e dimentica, vedi e ricorda, fai e capisci.

Hi Udi,
I would be amazed if you will find in this way a partner to climb Cassin route on Pizzo Badile. Although it is very simple on the technical side it is really committing and only a crazy guy will go there with an unknow buddy.
I often climbed with someone I never meet before but only on sport routes and friendly environment. In this way I relized who was the people I just meet and eventually I decided to climb again with him (or her)...
Just my 2 cent. |

Hi Giudirel,
of course you are correct and I wouldn't count on amnyone I dont know. however, you can alwasys find out after 1-2 days who you are dealing with...
I never thought to pick up someone and climb a 800 M wall.
I guess I really need a partner and looking to cover all possibilities. My designated partner can't join me this time...
thanks for your comment |

Correct!! I agree with you.
Anyway now weather is just turned very bad and maybe the Cassin route ideal condition timeframe is over...
But I'm pretty sure that the south side of the group, coming from Masino Valley, will be in ideal condition for climbing till the september end.
Maybe the Masino valley is not so famous as Bregaglia and Bondasca are, but I'm actually sure you will be not disappointed about them.
Best wishes to you and... enjoy! |

I said "maybe".
Future is unknown!
Now weather is very, very bad, temperature is dropped, and it is raining cats and dogs...
But "maybe" weather will improve and temperature rise again.
I guess yesterday and today the snow falled till 2400 m... but maybe it will melt... but not as soon as we would like on north sides...
Anyway my advice is to track if everyone climb on Pizzo Badile northern side looking at information sites as like this one or www.gulliver.it.
You can too ask information to the friend of mine Gianluca Maspes (Rampik) that is the owner of Masino Climbing blog http://masinoclimbing.blogspot.it/. He live in San Martino and he keeps in touch with all the best climber rolling around there.
Feel free to ask again. I live not too far from Badile and other friends here are much closer than me... |

Hi Giudirel,
I have sent a mail to your friend "Rampik", hope he has good and current information.
did you hear anything new? Sasc Fura said they can't see any snow on the Cassin, but maybe there is some way up... |
